First Book from Oxford Studies in Disability, Ethics, and Society Released

In 2022, SPD president Joel Michael Reynolds and emerita professor of English and bioethics Rosemarie Garland-Thomson launched Oxford Studies in Disability, Ethics, and Society, the first book series devoted to disability and ethics in Oxford University Press’ history. The series’ inaugural title was recently released from the founder, former president, and current vice president of the SPD: Adam Cureton’s Respecting Disability: Attitudes, Ideals, and Relationships. You can find this book and forthcoming titles on OUP’s website as well as the editor’s book series page.

A note on accessibility: all books in the series will be available upon publication in hardback, paperback, and e-book format (accessible for screen readers), with the latter available not directly via Oxford University Press but instead via e-book retailers. All books will also be pitched to Recorded Books to be turned into audiobooks, though whether they choose to license a title is at their discretion.
